The Chico State men's golf team got some good news Friday with the release of the first NCAA Division II regional rankings. Ranked No. 25 in the nation, the Wildcats are ranked No. 3 in the West. The top 10 in the final rankings will receive a berth in the NCAA Regional Championships with a chance to advance to the national finals. They'll try to make some more good news Monday and Tuesday when they wrap up the regular season at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at Turlock Golf & Country Club.
 
Head Coach Nick Green will take a lineup of Colby Dean, Cole Chavez, Serge Kiriluk, Henning Hogmoen, and TJ Kathrineberg to Turlock. Chris Colla will be competing as an individual.
 
Dean and Kiriluk helped the Wildcats win last season's Hanny Stanislaus by seven shots. Kirluk finished 17^th at 1-over par, sparked by his final-round 67.
 
The tournament will take place at the Turlock Golf and Country Club, southwest of Turlock. The championship layout is a 6,641-yard, par-72 configuration.

The 54-hole, three-round tournament begins with 36 holes of continues play on Monday. The shotgun format begins at 8 a.m. Tuesday's 18-hole single round is also a shotgun format beginning at 8 a.m.

The tournament was renamed in 2009 (formerly Buzzini Stanislaus Invitational) in honor of former head coach Jim Hanny, who retired at the end of the 2008 season.
 
At No. 3, the Wildcats are the top-ranked team in the West competing in Turlock. No. 4 Cal State Monterey Bay, No. 5 Cal State East Bay, No. 7 Sonoma State, No. 8 Saint Martin's, No. 9 Dixie State, and No. 10 Holy Names will also compete.
