Wildcats throw three-hitter to beat Seawolves

Chico State wins ninth straight to open CCAA play

ROHNERT PARK – Four Chico State pitchers combined on a three-hitter as the Wildcats opened a four-game series against rival Sonoma State with a 4–1 victory Friday in Rohnert Park.

Starter Hunter Haworth allowed just one run on two hits in five-and-a-third innings. But the Seawolves loaded the bases against him with one down in the sixth on two walks and a base hit. Stuart Bradley worked out of the jam, allowing just a sacrifice fly. Bradley retired all five hitters he faced to earn the win and improve to 2-0.

Grant Wright worked a scoreless eighth and Anthony Baleto retired the Seawolves in order in the ninth to earn his second save of the season.
