LOS ANGELES – A spirited comeback effort came up just short for the Chico State women's soccer team in a 2-1 loss at Cal State L.A. Sunday afternoon.

st minute. Freshman Pooja Patel provided the assist in a crowded box for her first collegiate point.
Chico State (4-3-1, 1-1-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association) took the final four shots of the match after the 7-1-1 Golden Eagles (2-0-0 CCAA) thoroughly dominated the early going.
