Bailey Jones is known to Chico State women's basketball fans as one of the team's most consistent 3-point shooters. Through the first eight games of the season, the junior guard from Castro Valley averaged two treys and an even 10 points per game. Jones rose to a whole new stratosphere Saturday against Humboldt State, connecting on 10 3-pointers to etch her name in both the Chico State and CCAA record books. Her career-best effort makes Jones the latest Wildcat of the Week.

Jones scored 32 points in the Wildcats' 105-96 triple overtime loss to the Lumberjacks, and did almost all her damage from long distance, hitting 10-of-18 shots from beyond the arc, including four in the pivotal fourth quarter. In the process, she eclipsed the CCAA's single game record of nine treys set in 2015 by Taylor Champion of Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The 10 3-pointers also topped the previous Chico State women's basketball single game record of eight treys in a game, jointly held by Tessa Isola (1996) and Audi Spencer (2006).

Not only did Jones's 32-point scoring performance more than double her previous single-game high of 15, she is also the first Chico State women's basketball player to score over 30 points in a game since Whitney Branham racked up 31 against Humboldt State back on November 18, 2017.

For the season, Jones is second on the Wildcats in scoring, averaging 12.4 points a game. Her 26 3-pointers are the second-most of any CCAA player.

Jones and the Wildcats take a break for the holidays before returning to action January 2, beginning the New Year with an afternoon tilt against Stanislaus State at Acker Gym. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
