Chico State senior guard Jon Baird buried six 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 20 points as the Wildcats beat Pacific Union 84-68 last Thursday night at Acker Gym. He earned Wildcat of the Week honors for his efforts.

Baird was one 3-pointer shy of his career high and is now just two treys shy of 100 in his career. He also chipped in three steals, three rebounds, and a pair of assists.

Baird has returned to the court for his senior year after skipping the last two campaigns and he's played a crucial role in the Wildcats' 4-1 start that matches their best start in the last 20 years.  Baird is averaging 3.2 3-pointers and 13.2 points per game.

Baird needs just one more 3-pointer to tie Bryant Tyler for the 10th most in a Chico State career, and two more to become just the 10th Wildcat to reach the century mark in threes. Baird is on track to finish third in Chico State career history and first among two-year players if he continues his pace of 3.2 3-pointers per game throughout the rest of the regular season.
