In two years of competition at Chico State, Alexandria Tucker has already piled up performances in both cross country and track that rank her among the top distance runners ever to don the Cardinal and White. And with two years of eligibility remaining, there's no telling how many more goals the San Ramon product will achieve. On the heels of a spectacular 2019 season that featured her first trip to the NCAA Track & Field Championships, Tucker is the runaway choice for Wildcat of the Week.

Tucker's success goes back to the 2017–18 season, when she earned All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) honors and the conference's Newcomer of the Year award in cross country. That spring Tucker posted personal best times of 16:57.57 in the 5,000-meter run, and 4:41.74 in the 1,500.

Those accomplishments were just a taster for 2018–19, as Tucker was the runner-up at the CCAA Cross Country Championships, while also earning All-West Region honors with a 14th place finish in Billings, Montana. On the oval, Tucker earned All-CCAA honors in the 5,000-meter run and grabbed a spot in the Chico State record books April 18 during the Mt. SAC Relay's 10,000-meter run, stopping the clock at 35:11.01—the sixth-fasted time in the event in program history.

The effort punched Tucker's ticket to the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Kingsville, Texas, where on May 23 she flirted with an All-America performance in the 10k before having to drop out of contention with 400 meters to go due to the oppressive heat and humidity before the final lap.

There are sure to be more exciting runs in Alexandria Tucker's future, and the Chico State cross country and track & field teams will be the beneficiaries for years to come.
