Falling one win shy of advancing to the NCAA Championship Tournament West Super Regional was not the way Ari Marsh had planned to wrap up her Chico State softball career. But the program's all-time hits leader made sure to go out the same way she came in four years ago—punishing opposing pitchers. Marsh led the Wildcats in hits, doubles, and runs batted in at the West Sub-Regional in La Jolla, and though it wasn't quite enough to keep Chico State's 2019 season alive, her performance was more than adequate to cop Wildcat of the Week honors.

Marsh hit safely and drove in at least one run in all four West Sub-Regional contests, putting together a string of three multi-hit games to bat an even .500 (7-for-14) with a pair of doubles and six RBI. The San Diego native felt right at home driving in a huge insurance run in Chico State's 6-4 winner's bracket victory Friday over UC San Diego, then in what turned out to be her last game as a Wildcat, Marsh drove in the team's lone run and fittingly lined a single to center field in her final Chico State at-bat.

Marsh finishes her Chico State career with more hits (231) than any other player in Wildcat history. A three-time All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) selection, she is also second all-time in RBI (135) and total bases (296), while ranking fourth in doubles (44) and runs scored (104).

Carving out a permanent place in the record books while leading Chico State softball to four straight NCAA Championship Tournament appearances, Ari Marsh can leave the program knowing that she'll be remembered as one of the Wildcats' all-time greats.
