Chico State first baseman/outfielder Kyle Blakeman banged out seven hits, including a home run and two doubles, and slugged .750 as the Wildcats won three of four at rival Sonoma State over the weekend.

The Wildcat of the Week drove in three runs and scored four. He also drew a walk, and was twice hit by pitches for an on-base percentage of .526.

Blakeman, a senior transfer from San Jose State, hit his first Chico State home run and doubled twice in the Wildcats' 5-1 win in Friday's opener, scoring three runs and driving in one. After going 0-for-2 and getting hit by a pitch in the Wildcats only loss of the weekend, Blakeman went 2-for-4 in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader, driving in a run and scoring another.

Blakeman went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Chico State's 9-3 victory Sunday.

The Wildcats, now 8-4 on the season and ranked No. 5 in the West Region, are 4-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association despite playing their first six conference games on the road.

Blakeman and the Wildcats will play their first conference home series this weekend when San Francisco State visits for a four-game set beginning with a single game Friday at 2 p.m.
