Biography

One of 15 true freshmen for the ’Cats in 2020–21…Pre-Chico Days: A 2020 graduate of Franklin High School in Elk Grove…Helped lead the Wildcats to postseason appearances in all three of her varsity seasons…Earned All-Delta League honors in 2018–19…Personal: Born October 22, 2002, in Sacramento…Daughter of Gilbert and Marisela…Has an older sister, Erica…The person she most admires in the sports world is former FC Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta (“I admire his style of play, along with his mentality on and off the pitch”)…Chose to attend Chico State “because I felt it was the best fit for my academic and athletic endeavors. I fell in love with the campus and its beautiful trees from all over the world. The athletic program’s tight-knit family environment was also a key factor in my decision in choosing Chico”…Her greatest sports moment was playing in the 2019 Gothia Cup in Sweden in front of crowds of over a thousand spectators (“Playing against athletes from all over the world, scoring two goals in the competition, and making it to the championship game is an experience I will never forget”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done was attend a church service in Gothenburg, Sweden (“I couldn't understand a single word, except for Amen”)…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is achieving a soccer juggling record of 2,387…Has learned by playing soccer that “with relentless effort and determination, you can accomplish anything you set your mind to both on and off the field”…Enjoys listening to music and swimming in her pool when she has some free time…Can hold her breath underwater for over a minute-and-a-half…Is ambidextrous…At the top of her bucket list: “I’d like to see Tame Impala and The 1975 live in concert or at a music festival”…Best advice ever received came from her mom: “Everything happens for a reason, both good and bad”…Majoring in civil engineering…Plans a career as a civil engineer specializing in environmental engineering.
