Biography

Transfer from Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska…Pre-Chico Days: Did not play last season, sitting out due to the pandemic…Appeared in 31 games for the Eagles as a true freshman in 2019–20, including nine starts…Averaged 6.2 points and a team-high 6.1 rebounds a contest…Scored in double figures six times, including a career-high 14 points February 22, 2020 against New Mexico Highlands…Finished the 2019–20 campaign six days later with an 11-point, 11-rebound performance against Metropolitan State University of Denver…A 2019 graduate of Eastview High School in Apple Valley, Minnesota…Led the Lightning to a state championship in 2018…Personal: Born July 17, 2001, in Los Angeles…Daughter of Venetia Morris…Has three siblings: Mariah, William, and Faith…Her mother is her hero (“She has shown me how to truly work hard. She has done so much for me in my life and has always supported me, and without her I do not know where I would be”)…The person she most admires in the sports world is Kobe Bryant (“Before he passed he was a big idol of mine, and even to this day I think he was one of the greatest players”)…Chose to attend Chico State “because of the environment. I really feel welcomed here and on my visit; everyone that I met was so friendly. Chico is not just the town but it is the people inside of it that really make it feel like home”…Her biggest sports moment was winning the state championship in high school…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is go to Paris with her family…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is starting a Diversity Club at a majority Caucasian school…Has learned by playing basketball to “always put my team first. This can go for anything in life, like work or family. It is important to put other people first when it is something that must be accomplished as a group. Learning this has made me work harder so that I could do whatever I can to pull my weight”…Enjoys traveling with friends and family…Learned how to make and design clothes during her pandemic-caused time away from the court…Says baking is her biggest non-basketball talent…Was homeschooled by her mother up until fourth grade…At the top of her bucket list: “Skydiving”…Best advice ever received came from her mother: “Never change who you truly are for someone or something”…Majoring in criminal justice…Hopes to establish a career in scene crime investigation.
