Biography

Second year in the Wildcats’ program…Pre-Chico Days: A 2020 graduate of Rogers High School in Puyallup, Washington…Led the Rams to the state championship Elite 8 in 2018 and 2019, and the program’s first conference championship title in a decade in 2019–20…Two-time First Team All-Region and All-State selection…Team captain during junior and senior seasons…Named team’s MVP and Defensive Player of the Yeasr in 2017…Scored over 1,000 points during her prep career…Also lettered in track…Personal: Born March 25, 2002, in Chico…Daughter of Alan and Dion…Has two brothers, Izaiah and Jalan…Her parents are her heroes (“They do everything for me and help me with life every step of the way no matter how old I get, and without whom I would be very lost and my life would be drastically different”)…Admires all WNBA players (“They face so much adversity just to step on the court and hoop. These women are immensely talented and never get the recognition they deserve, but they still fight through and that is very admirable”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Introduction to Sociology, taught by Dawn Frank…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “When I came here on my visit, the vibe was right on and off the court. The players and coaching staff were amazing and inviting, and I knew this was going to be the right school for me”…Her greatest sports moment was winning all the district and regional high school games to get to the state tournament (“I was playing in an intense nail-biting game and hit the game-winner that took us to overtime to advance to the next round”)…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is go to Times Square on New Year’s…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is bowling a perfect 300 game…Has learned by playing basketball that “a loss doesn’t define character”…Enjoys cooking and making TikToks when she has some free time…Got the chance to go on scenic adventures and scenic drives during her pandemic-caused time away from the court (“It was very peaceful, and I hope to do those things again after the season”)…Cooking is her biggest non-basketball talent (“I look to cook for my friends on the team and they enjoy my meals”)…Loves to travel and one day plans on traveling all around the world…At the top of her bucket list: “Go to Dubai”…Best advice ever received came from her mom: “Good things take time”…Majoring in sociology…Plans to move back to Seattle, Washington after graduation and pursue a career as a human resource manager.
