Second year in the Wildcats’ program…Pre-Chico Days: A 2020 graduate of Del Norte High School in San Diego…Earned four varsity letters…Set multiple school records, becoming the first Nighthawks basketball player—boy or girl—to score over 1,000 career points...Finished her prep career as the program’s all-time leader in 3-point field goals (188)…Two-time All-Palomar League selection…Personal: Born August 16, 2002, in San Diego…Daughter of Horace and Nicki…The person she most admires in the sports world is WNBA star Kelsey Plum (“because of her crazy hard work ethic and her ‘no mercy’ mindset on the court”)…Her favorite course at Chico State is Interpersonal Communications, taught by Amy Oelrichs…Why she chose to attend Chico State: “I loved the family atmosphere they have created, and because the team showed me the most love”…Her greatest sports moment was scoring her 1,000th career point in high school…The most interesting thing she’s ever done is inner tubing through old Mayan caves…The most impressive thing she’s ever accomplished is being the first basketball player to score over 1,000 points at her high school…Has learned by playing basketball that “people will hate on you and beat you down, but you must do your best to ignore what they are saying and continue to strive forward”…Enjoys cooking, going to the beach, longboarding, weightlifting, riding her Peloton bike when she has some free time…Learned how essential it is to be flexible during times of uncertainty during her pandemic-caused time away from the court (“It’s a pivotal skill that will remain with me the rest of my life”)…Says cooking is her biggest non-basketball talent (“It is something I have enjoyed to do for forever, and I do not see myself stopping anytime soon!”)…At the top of her bucket list: “I want to learn how to professionally DJ”…Best advice ever received came was a quote from Ghandi her mom gave to her: “Be the change you wish to see in the world”…Majoring in communications…Plans to earn a real estate license after graduating.
