Monnie Davidson-Mays is in her third season as part of the Chico State women’s basketball coaching staff in 2019–20. The former Wildcat star has played an important role in the program reaching postseason play twice in the last three years.
 
Davidson-Mays returned to Chico State in 2017–18 after beginning her coaching career with a two-year stint as an assistant at Butte College in Oroville.
 
As a player, Davidson-Mays posted two productive seasons at Chico State, helping lead the Wildcats to a pair of NCAA Championship Tournament berths and the 2012–13 CCAA regular season title. Davidson-Mays averaged over 10 points and five rebounds a game as a senior to earn First Team All-CCAA honors.
 
Prior to Chico State, Davidson-Mays played at Butte College, where she was a two-time All-Golden Valley Conference First Team selection and was named All-State in 2010–11. Davidson-Mays was a prep standout in both basketball and softball at Oakland Technical High School.
 
Davidson-Mays received her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Chico State in 2015.
