Pre-Chico Days
A 2019 graduate of Chaminade High School in West Hills…Earned All-CIF honors in track & field…Competed in 800m, 1,500m, 1,600m, and 3,200m run, as well as 4x400m relay…Named track & field team captain as a senior…Reached CIF Southern Section Preliminaries and Finals in cross country…Also lettered in basketball.
Personal
Born October 14, 2000, in Los Angeles…Son of Duane Doucette and Patty Ferruzza…Has three siblings: Dayton, Finley, and Tess… The person he most admires in the sports world is long distance runner Eliud Kipchoge (“His way of looking at life has inspired me in many ways”)…Favorite instructor at Chico State is Professor Lauren Ruth…Chose to attend Chico State “because of the art and track programs. Both have a rich history and I wanted to be a part of it”…His greatest sports moment is winning the 800m run at the 2019 Tiger Invitational in Pasadena…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is wire sculpting and ceramics…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished: “I balanced over 15 rocks on top of each other”…Has learned by competing in track & field that “dedication can get you anywhere from any spot”…Enjoys flying remote control airplanes and spending time with friends…Says “I have a blessed talent for painting and drawing”…Plans on fostering kids immediately after college…At the top of his bucket list: “Going to Arusha, Tanzania in Africa and doing everything I can there!”…Best advice ever received: “You can’t do it on your own.
