Pre-Chico Days
Competed in both track and cross country at El Camino College in Torrance…Competed in 10 track & field meets for the Warriors in 2018…Finished third in the 800m run (1:57.39) at the 2018 South Coast Conference Championships…Placed fourth with a PR 800m time of 1:55.30 at the CCCAA Southern California Regional Championships…A 2017 graduate of Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach…Competed in the 400m dash, 800m run, 300m hurdles, and 4x400m relay…Also lettered in cross country.
 
Personal
Born October 14, 1998, in Torrance…Son on Wilson and Lisa…Has three siblings: Shaw, Emily, and Blake…The athletes he most admires in the sports world are Kobe Bryant, Lionel Messi, and Sebastian Coe (“because of their ability, range, and adaptability”)…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “Coach O offered me a spot, and my parents like the school”…His greatest sports moment is how he fared in the 800m during the two qualifying meets before the state meet (“In the two races I dropped my PR a second-and-a-half. I didn’t make it to the state meet on a technicality, but there was a lot of pressure and nobody expected me to do that well”)…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is take a lot of road trips with my dad and brothers (“I’ve crisscrossed the country at least 10 times”)…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is “getting onto a team as prestigious as Chico State having run the 800m fewer than 20 times, and based on times from my second year of running”…Has learned by competing in track & field to “keep pounding the stone”…Enjoys playing soccer and going to the beach when he has some free time…Says “I am tall but have never excelled at a ‘tall person’ sport”…At the top of his bucket list: “Travel around Europe or Africa either for running or just life for months”…Best advice ever received came from his high school coach: “Why would you wake up at 7am everyday to be second best?”…Majoring in history…Plans to continue on to law school after graduating.
