2020
Appeared in one event at the March 6–7 Kim Duyst Invitational before the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 51.50m…Earned CCAA Spring All-Academic honors.
2019
Competed in five meets during the 2019 season…Posted personal best javelin toss of 53.93m April 13, 2019 at the Woody Wilson Classic.
Pre-Chico Days
Spent two seasons competing at Butte College in Oroville…Helped lead the Roadrunners to the Golden Valley Conference crown in 2017 and 2018…A 2016 graduate of Nevada Union High School in Grass Valley…Ran the 100m and 200m dash, and the 4x100m and 4x400m relay…Reached the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Preliminaries in 2016 as part of the Miners’ 4x400m relay team…Also lettered in football.
Personal
Born August 3, 1998, in Grass Valley…Son of Greg and Dianna…Has one younger sibling, Christopher…The person he most admires in the sports world is javelin world record holder Jan Zelezny (“He’s not the biggest or strongest athlete but honed his technique to the caliber that near no one can match”)…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “For the track team, especially the coaches”…His greatest sports moment is setting a new personal record at Chico State’s 2020 Cardinal and White meet (“My teammate Alex Graham was there to encourage and measure my throw. We were both so excited because his and my PR’s were now less than a meter apart”)…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is “going in as a possible prospect in the 4x4 in high school and end up finishing postseason in Masters Preliminaries”…Has learned by competing in track & field that “when in doubt, go back to basics”…Enjoys spending time with his family and girlfriend…Says that singing is his biggest talent outside of sports…His grandfather was invited to play on the practice team for the Philadelphia Phillies…At the top of his bucket list: “Go skydiving”…Best advice ever received came from his dad: “Always be proud of who you are”…Majoring in criminal justice…Plans to join the Provost Marshal Office in the Marines, followed by a career in law enforcement.
