Competed in one event at the March 6–7 Kim Duyst Invitational before the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Placed 25th in the 400m dash with a time of 52.65 seconds…Earned 2019–20 CCAA All-Academic honors.
Pre-Chico Days
A 2019 graduate of Santa Cruz High School…Competed in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, as well as the 4x100m and 4x400m relay…Three-time Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League 400m champion…Ran the 400m at the 2019 State Track & Field Championships…Made three appearances in the CIF Central Coast Section Finals…Part of the Cardinals’ 4x400m relay team that took top honors at the 2018 SCCAL Championships…Set the school’s freshman/sophomore record in the 400m (50.40 seconds)…Also lettered in soccer.

Born October 26, 2000, in Santa Cruz…Son of Brian Hatcher and Luisa Kelly…Has two siblings, Jared and twin brother Travis…The person he most admires in the sports world is sprinter Michael Norman (“because of his work ethic and how nice he is”)…Favorite course at Chico State is General Chemistry…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “I liked Coach O and my dad went here, too”…His greatest sports moment is running the 400m dash in 49 seconds…The most interesting thing he’s ever done: “I’ve cleaned 275 pounds” …The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is running the 200m dash in 22.21 seconds…Has learned by competing in track & field that “working hard gets you success”…Enjoys playing video games when he has some free time…Says CrossFit is his biggest talent outside of sports…His identical twin Travis also goes to Chico State…At the top of his bucket list: “Travel around the world”…Best advice ever received: “Stay in school, and earn good grades”…Majoring in exercise physiology.
