Appeared in one event at the March 6–7 Kim Duyst Invitational prior to the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season.
2019
Competed in 11 meets during the 2019 season…Won the CCAA pole vault crown with a personal best mark of 5.01m (seventh best in Chico State program history) at the May 2, 2019 conference championship meet…Qualified for the 2019 NCAA Track & Field Championships…Earned USTFCCCA All-West Region honors…In his lone appearance in the javelin, finished fifth at the April 13, 2019 Woody Wilson Classic with a throw of 42.59m.
2018
Appeared in nine meets during the 2018 season…Earned All-CCAA honors with a third place finish (4.85m) at the May 3, 2018 conference championship meet…Earned USTFCCCA All-West Region honors.
Pre-Chico Days
A 2017 graduate of Del Oro High School in Loomis…Two-time participant in the State Track & Field Championships…Earned California All-State Track & Field honors as a senior…In 2017, won the Sierra Foothill League pole vault title, took top honors in the event at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I Finals and the SJS Masters Finals…Placed first in the pole vault in the 2016 SJS D-I Finals…Also competed in the 100m dash, 800m run, and the high jump during his four varsity seasons.

Born April 5, 1998, in Loomis…Son of Jef and Amanda…Has two siblings, Hope and Heather…The person he most admires in the sports world is Sam Kendricks (“He is the best pole vaulter in the US”)…Chose to attend Chico State “because of Coach Oliver Hanf. He was the best head coach”…His greatest sports moment is winning the CCAA pole vault championship and competing in the NCAA Championships in 2019…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is travel to 30 countries…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is jumping 5.01 meters in the pole vault…Has learned by competing in track & field that “even when you win you fail. Don’t be afraid to fail”…Enjoys working on his ranch when he has some free time…Says “I’m a great craftsmen”…Can play piano and guitar…Has 16 chickens…At the top of his bucket list: “Go to space”…Best advice ever received: “You’re more capable than you know”…Majoring in business management.
