Personal
Born November 7, 2001, in Walnut Creek…Son of Bryan and Carolyn…Has one older sister, Nicole…The person he most admires in the sports world is Bo Jackson (“I consider him to be the greatest athlete of all time for competing at the highest level in multiple professional sports. He was also a two-time decathlon state champion, despite never running the 1,500m”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Programming and Algorithms, taught by Kevin Buffardi…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “Chico has a great atmosphere of acceptance and community. I enjoy the town and easy access to the Sierras as well”…His greatest sports moment is winning the 300m hurdles in a meet against a rival high school in between pole vault attempts (“This was the meet my coach decided I should try decathlon”)…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is free climb in the Boulder, Colorado flatirons…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is becoming an Eagle Scout…Has learned by competing in track & field that “you have to keep moving forward. You can’t dwell on what has already happened; you have to focus on your next event”…Enjoys watching movies, hiking, skateboarding, and snowboarding when he has some free time…Lists rock climbing as his biggest non-sport talent…Can play the bass guitar…Loves wildlife photography…At the top of his bucket list: “A Himalayan climbing trip or backpacking Europe. Or go to space”…Best advice ever received came from his mom: “She told me to tuck and roll my entire life anytime I fell. You get through the bad parts, get up, dust yourself off, and keep moving forward”…Majoring in electrical engineering.
