I have always been treated like family even when I didn’t know the other athletics staff”…His greatest sports moment is becoming the first shot putter in his high school’s history to make it to the state meet (“I only took half of my throws and missed finals to make it to graduation and still qualified”)…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is dive straight into class 3 rapids to get certified to be a rafting guide…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished getting the All-League award four different times in just his senior year of high school…Has learned by competing in track & field that “sitting around doing nothing will not help you in what you need to do. You don’t want to go to practice all the time, but you want to get better, so you need to put the time in”…Enjoys playing basketball, playing video games, and working out when he has some free time…Is a River Rescue Certified rafting guide…Can play the clarinet and trumpet…Is fully fluent in Spanish and English…At the top of his bucket list: “Owning a Nissan GT-R”…Best advice ever received came from his current throws coach: “Do things for myself and not for someone else, because the only way you can enjoy what you do is if you do it for yourself by yourself”…Majoring in exercise physiology…Plans a career in occupational therapy, preferably with children with disabilities.
