Personal
Born December 9, 1996, in Salinas…Son of Rodolfo and Luz…Has one younger sibling, Julian…His parents are his heroes (“After years of sacrifice for me, I have always looked up to them as they have always pushed me not only in athletics but also in school. They have gone out of their way for me to reach any goals I have set for myself”)…Favorite instructor at Chico State is Annie Adamian…Chose to attend Chico State “for the beautiful atmosphere and views of Chico. Not only that, but hearing my Modesto Junior College track coach (alumnus Brian Beeman) talk about what Chico State is all about, I knew instantly that this was the school for me. If it were not for Brian, I would not be here, and it has been a dream come true”…His greatest sports moment: “I entered my senior year of high school without ever fallen or tripped any hurdles. During one of the main meets that year, I was running the 300m hurdles and finally fell, but instead of laying down or giving up, I got back into the race and of the eight runners I was still able to finish in fourth place. I realized that there should be no reason to give up on anything, not even a race”.…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is spontaneously go hiking or traveling (“I love to travel and hike the national parks as I just randomly just hit the road at times to go see what the world has to offer”)…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is “attending a University and especially being able to be on the track team, as I believed I would be done after high school”…Has learned by competing in track & field “to never give up and always try your best regardless of the outcome”…Enjoys reading, hiking, and camping when he has some free time…Loves to “read books like crazy”…Meditates and goes out to parks during the summer “and just feel everything around me”…At the top of his bucket list: “Go to Greece to go see the Parthenon”…Best advice ever received: “Don’t look back on life and don't live with a ‘what if’ world; instead, go after the new and unexplored”…Majoring in history…Plans to enter the credential program following graduation and ultimately become a high school teacher.
