2020
Competed in three events at the March 7 Kim Duyst Invitational before the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Finished fourth in the 400m hurdles (a personal best time of 56.42 seconds) and seventh in the 110m hurdles (15.85 seconds)…Part of a Wildcat 4x400m relay team that posted a fourth place finish (3:29.47).
 
Pre-Chico Days
Appeared in 10 meets while competing for William Jessup University in Rocklin in 2019…During the season ran the 200m and 400m dash, 800m run, 400m hurdles, and 4x100m and 4x400m relays…Began his college career in 2018 at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster…Competed in the 200m, 300m, and 400m dash, 800m run, and 4x400m relay…A 2016 graduate of Highland High School in Palmdale…Earned two varsity letters with the Bulldogs competing in 110m and 300m hurdles, 400m dash, 4x400m relay, and high jump.

Born February 7, 1998, in Lancaster…Son or Courtlen Cedric Burke Sr…Has two siblings, Darius and Courtlen Jr…The person he most admires in the sports world is kickboxer and MMA fighter Israel Adesanya…Favorite course at Chico State is Animal Science, taught by Donald Miller…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “Great athletes trained here. That energy drives you to meet those standards and excel”…His greatest sports moment is “still to come”…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is travel with his biology class to Yosemite (“A life-changing experience”)…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is going to the Junior Olympics…Has learned by competing in track & field that “Everybody gets their turn. Your grind and dedication dictates how long your turn is”…Enjoys studying when he has some free time…Lists designs and craftsmanship as two of his biggest non-sports talents…His favorite color is purple…At the top of his bucket list: “Moving to Oregon”…Best advice ever received: “Pick your head up, ain’t no air down there”…Majoring in biology…Plans a career in clinical research/osteopathic medicine.
