In his first season with the Chico State Wildcats coaching staff, a native to Santa Rosa, Nelson recently hung up his spikes, graduating from Chico State with a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology.
The Decathlete began his collegiate career at Santa Rosa Junior College before joining the 'Cats in 2022, appearing at the CCAA Championships in both 2022 & 2023.
He earned the gold in the Decathlon at the 2022 CCAA Championships, with individual bronze honors in the Javelin in both 2022 & 2023.
Nelson brings experience in many events and will primarily oversee the hurdlers and high jumpers.
