Hannah Chappell joined the Chico State track & field programs at the start of the 2025 season. As part of the coaching staff, she will work the hammer throwers.
Following her collegiate career at Fresno State, Chappell returned to her hometown of Oakdale and began coaching at her alma mater Oakdale High School, helping the Mustangs win back-to-back league titles in the shot put while having several student-athletes advance to the State-level meets.
Chappell spent her freshman year at the University of Alabama as a discus thrower. She transferred to Fresno State where she became a hammer specialist During her time as a Bulldog, she won the 2021 Mountain West Conference championship in the hammer and qualified for the NCAA Division I Regional on two occasions. Her farthest throw in her collegiate career was 63.09 meters, which ranked fourth all-time by the time she graduated.
Chappell graduated with a degree in Education.
