2021–2022
Began the cross country season with a 24th place finish (8k time of 25:13.5) September 25, 2021 at the Cougar Challenge…Placed 20th (10k time of 32:26.0) October 9, 2021 at the Western Washington Bill  Roe  Classic…Concluded the fall with an eighth place finish place run (personal best 8k time of 24:57.9) October 23, 2021 at the CCAA Cross Country Championships, earning All-CCAA honors…Appeared in six meets during the 2022 track & field season…Ran a season-best time of 4:00.22 in the 1,500m, finishing ninth March 19, 2022 at the Wildcat Invitational…Earned an NCAA Provisional mark in the 10k, posting a personal best time of 30:00.34 March 31, 2022 at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, finishing sixth in the event…Set a new PR time of 14:32.99 in the 5k, placing fifth April 14, 2022 at the Bryan Clay Invitational…Took top honors in the 10k (30:02.71) May 6, 2022 at the CCAA Track & Field Championships, earning All-CCAA honors
 
2020­–21
- Did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Pre-Chico Days
- Transfer from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont
- Ran cross country for the Argonauts in 2019, but did not compete in track & field in 2020 during the COVID pandemic
- Spent the 2018–19 academic year running in both cross country and track & field at Modesto Junior College, and was named the program’s top performer
- First-team All-Big 8 Conference selection
- Finished first in the 5,000m run at the 2019 Kim Duyst Invitational and 2019 Jamie Nieto Invitational
- Began college career in 2017 at Holy Names University in Oakland, competing in both cross country and track & field
- A 2017 graduate of Modesto High School
- Took part in the 800m, 1,600m, 3,200m and one mile run, as well as the 4x400m relay during his prep career
- Earned the program’s Coaching Leadership award
- Also lettered in cross country.
 
Personal
- Born November 10, 1999, in Modesto
- Son of John and Melissa
- Has one younger sibling, Kelsey
- One of his heroes in Malcolm X (“due to his ability to speak truth to power, his drive for global solidarity, and his readiness to die for his morals and ideals”)
- The person he most admires in the sports world in track and field runner Lopez Lomong (“He had an incredibly hard upbringing in Sudan during their civil war, living separated from his family in a refugee camp for the majority of his young life. He later came to America and put all of his effort into becoming a world class runner while working through his life struggles. I also admire the longevity of his career and his work ethic”)
- Favorite course at Chico State is Kinesiology Internship Seminar, taught by Traci Ciapponi (“I was able to work as Coach Towne’s intern”)
- Why he chose to attend Chico State: “Originally it was the only college I could name while in high school. However, I transferred later because Chico also had a kinesiology graduate program I was interested in”
- His greatest sports moment is winning the 10k run at the 2022 CCAA Track & Field Championships
- The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is academic success in college after posting poor grades in high school…Has learned by competing in distance running that “persistence is the key to success. Keep grinding even when no one is watching you”
- Enjoys reading when he has some free time
- Proud of the fact that he owns a yellow bike “with a cute basket on it”
- At the top of his bucket list: “Travel all over Central and South America”
- Best advice ever received is his own: “There ain’t nothin’ to it but to do it”…Majoring in kinesiology
- Plans to pursue a master’s degree in kinesiology at Chico State, then hopes to teach and coach at Modesto Junior College.
