2020
Competed in two events during the March 6–7 Kim Duyst Invitational before the cancellation of the 2020 track & field season…Finished 17th in the long jump (5.95m) and placed 17th in the 200m dash (23.12 seconds).
 
Pre-Chico Days
A 2018 graduate of Elsinore High School in Wildomar…Part of the Tigers’ 2018 Sunbelt League champion 4x100m relay team…Holds school records in the 4x400m and 8x200m relays…Competed in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash, 800m run, long jump, and 4x200m relay…Also lettered in football and wrestling.
 
Personal
Born October 23, 2000, in Lake Elsinore…Son of Rodney and Pamela…Has three siblings: Kiara, Brandon, and Bryce…The person he most admires in the sports world is sprinter Michael Norman (“He went to our rival high school and I feel like I could relate a lot to him. His attitude and work ethic is inspirational to me because of how positive and hard he works everyday”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Logic Design Fundamental, taught by John-Mark Mamalakis…Chose to attend Chico State: “because I knew it had a great track program but also had a good engineering program that was worth for the price of the tuition. I felt like this school would give me the feeling of being close to home”…His greatest sports moment is posting a time of 50.29 seconds in the 400m dash during the CIF Preliminaries (“it felt like such an important moment for me to realize that I could do so much better, and I thought Chico would be the time I would be at my best”)…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is visit four of the nine National Parks in California…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is being able to play college sports (“In high school, I never thought I would get this chance because I was always just mediocre at most of the sports I played”)…Has learned by competing in track & field that “no matter the odds, the best way to overcome anything is to stay positive and think smart”…Enjoys working out, playing video games, and watching shows when he has some free time…His biggest talent outside of sports is video games and “being an active learner”…Can play clarinet and bass clarinet… Says “I have a fair grasp of speaking French, and I can understand Japanese quite well”…At the top of his bucket list: “Skydive”…Best advice ever received he attributes to Usain Bolt: “Kill them with kindness, and bury them with a smile”…Majoring in computer engineering…Interested in becoming a private contractor, computer engineer, or work for a company associated either with drones or artificial intelligence.
