Personal
Born August 13, 1997, in Auckland, New Zealand…Son of Alfonso and Lesieli…Has five older siblings: Arthur, Tevida, Eseta, Enilisi, and Karl…The person he most admires in the sports world is Colin Kaepernick (“He is literally one of the few athletes that I have followed since youth. Colin understood his platform and influence of his position, so he decided to bring an awareness that has constantly being swept under the carpet. And I admire his strength and bravery to do so”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Africa: Continuity and Change, taught by David Eaton…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “I wanted to be out of my own element, to see how I personally could adapt in an environment that is completely different than what I am accustomed to”…His greatest sports moment is when he “decided to turn off my fear switch and run full speed into my opponent and ‘smack him in the mouth’ as my football coach would say. This has changed my mentality for the rest of my life—from reactive/responsive to aggressor”… The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is mental wisdom…Has learned by competing in track & field that “there is a discipline for everything. Are you the one to respect all of them, or just respect the one that pertains to you?”…Enjoys restaurant hunting and going out into the city to enjoy the environment when he has some free time…Says his art and creativity are his biggest non-sports talents…Loves to meet new people…At the top of his bucket list: “Skydive with a wing suit”…Best advice ever received came from his uncle: “Move to a place where no one knows you. Make a name for yourself”…Majoring in business entrepreneurship.
