Neal White completed his third and final season as an assistant coach with the Chico State baseball program in 2026. He joined the Wildcats’ coaching staff during the Fall 2023 semester and served as part of head coach Dave Taylor’s staff for the 2024, 2025, and 2026 seasons.
During White’s three seasons with the Wildcats, Chico State compiled an 82-70 overall record and made two CCAA Tournament appearances.
The 2026 season saw Chico State finish 26-24 overall and 15-17 in CCAA play. The Wildcats placed sixth in the conference and produced one of the top pitching staffs in the West Region, leading the CCAA and ranking 16th nationally with a 4.43 team ERA. Chico State also produced multiple postseason honorees, including All-CCAA selections Rocco Borrelli, Manny Lopez, Jakob Poole, and Jack Tews, with Borrelli and Lopez also earning All-West Region recognition.
The 2025 season was full of challenges for the Wildcats, who played the toughest schedule in the West Region. Chico State finished 31-22, including a 7-2 non-conference record that featured matchups against the defending West Region champions and two conference champions. While coaching third base, White watched the Wildcats score 325 runs, which ranked 11th in the West Region. Defensively, Chico State posted the second-best fielding percentage in the CCAA.
In White’s first season at Chico State in 2024, the Wildcats went 25-24 and earned a berth in the CCAA Tournament. Chico State made significant offensive improvements from the 2023 season, including gains in batting average, slugging percentage, and runs scored.
White came to Chico State after spending seven seasons with the NAIA’s University of Antelope Valley baseball program. He served as an assistant coach for three seasons before taking over as head coach for the next four years. During his time with Antelope Valley, the Pioneers captured three consecutive Cal Pac Conference championships and made two NAIA Opening Round appearances.
As an assistant coach at Antelope Valley, White coached first base during games and worked with hitters, outfielders, and baserunners away from competition. As one of the program’s hitting instructors, he helped the Pioneers rank among the NAIA’s top 25 in multiple offensive categories, including batting average, doubles, and triples.
A former Antelope Valley baseball standout, White played a key role in the Pioneers winning the Cal Pac Conference championship. He played center field and served as the team’s leadoff hitter. White earned first-team all-conference honors and was also named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete.
White earned both his bachelor’s degree in business management and his master’s degree in education from the University of Antelope Valley.
