Fourth year in the Wildcats’ program…Played in five games for Chico State in 2020, batting .400 on the season…Played in 16 games for the Wildcats in 2019…Singled in his first Chico State at-bat February 7, 2019 vs. Simpson…Pre-Chico Days: Began his college career at Stanislaus State, spending two years in the Warriors’ program…A 2016 graduate of Cesar E. Chavez High School in Delano…Helped lead Titans to two CIF Central Section Division V championships and the 2015 South Sequoia League crown…Named team MVP and to the MaxPreps California Small Schools All-State Baseball Team as a senior…2016 Bakersfield Californian All-Area selection….Earned First Team All-SSL honors three times…Personal: Born November 16, 1998, in Delano…Son of Alfredo and Sylvia…Has three siblings: Valerie, Erik, and Gabby…His grandmother are his heroes (“because of how they attacked each and every day, as well as how they worked so hard to provide for their families”)…The person he most admires in the sports world is Kobe Bryant (“because of his mamba mentality mindset”)…Favorite Chico State course is Graphics II, taught by Charlie Pooler…Chose to attend Chico State “because of the culture around the university as a whole, and it was a great fit both academically and athletically”…His greatest sports moments are winning back-to-back CIF championships in high school, and being named Wildcat of the Week…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is swim with dolphins…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is coming within three inches of a hole-in-one…Has learned by playing baseball to “never take anything for granted and work like it’s the last time you’ll ever do it”…Enjoys reading and “starting my recruiting for NCAA Football 14” when he has some free time…Says playing Wii sports is his biggest talent outside of baseball…Claims he is the Tiger Woods of Wii golf…At the top of his bucket list: “Go to Maldives”…Best advice ever received came from his old English teacher and coach, Mr. Rodarte: “Stay persistent and consistent”…Majoring in mechanical engineering…Plans to join the work force after college, eventually get a real estate license, and pursue a master’s degree in business.
