Transfer from Santa Barbara City College…Pre-Chico Days: A member of the Vaqueros program in 2021…Began his college career by spending two years at UC Santa Barabara…A member of the Gauchos team that won the 2019 Big West championship and earned a national Top 25 ranking…A 2018 graduate of Westview High School in San Diego…Earned four varsity letters…Posted a 6-4 record with a 1.14 earned run average and 112 strikeouts in 74 innings as a senior, earning First Team All-Palomar League and the league’s Pitcher of the Year honors…Second Team All-San Diego selection…Also lettered in soccer…Holds the Wolverines’ school goal record of 28…Named team MVP in 2016 and 2017…Personal: Born June 1, 2000, in San Diego…Son of Joseph and Carolyn…Has one older brother, Erik…His parents are his heroes (“They’ve provided me with constant guidance and shown me how to live and provide for a happy family”)…The person he most admires in the sports world is University of Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett…His favorite course at Chico State is Sustainability Issues, taught by Steve Herman…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “I enjoyed the culture in and around the school, and the winning atmosphere within the baseball program”…His greatest sports moment is striking out 39 batters in three consecutive starts during his senior high school season…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is finding success and a balance in the classroom and on the field while being a collegiate student-athlete…Has learned by playing baseball that “success happens when opportunity meets preparation”…Enjoys exercising, reading, listening to music, and going to the beach when he has some free time…Considers his biggest talent outside of baseball is competing in staring contests…Says Aristotle is his favorite philosopher…At the top of his bucket list: “Live in a different country”…Best advice ever received comes courtesy of Ricky Bobby’s dad in the movie Talladega Nights: “If you ain’t first, you’re last”…Majoring in communications.
