Biography

Second year in the Wildcats’ program…Pre-Chico Days: Spent three years at Division I Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Arkansas…Started 82 of his 93 games for the Red Wolves between 2018 and 2019…A 2017 graduate of Paraclete High School in Quartz Hill…Led Spirits to three Gold Coast League titles…Twice named First Team All-GCL…Received All-Conference A Team recognition in 2016 and 2017…Earned All-Conference B Team honors as a sophomore…Selected as USA Junior Olympics alternate…Received the City of Lancaster 2016 Teen Spotlight award for community service…Personal: Born February 5, 1999, in Mission Hills…Son of Warren and Marilynn…Has one older brother, John…His parents are his heroes (“They have believed in me and have given me every opportunity to succeed, and I am forever grateful for the love they have for me. I strive to be just like them when I grow up”)…The person he most admires in the sports world is Tom Brady (“He was slept on early in his career but never doubted himself and made the most of his opportunity with a chip on his shoulder, which I feel I can relate to”)…Favorite course at Chico State is Foundations of Rhetorical Communication Theories and Practice, taught by Jennifer Malkowski…Why he chose to attend Chico State: “I really enjoy what Chico State has to offer academically and athletically. The baseball program wants to win, and they teach hard work and determination. That’s exactly what I strive for”…His greatest sports moment is hitting a walk-off grand slam…The most interesting thing he’s ever done is ziplining in Oregon…The most impressive thing he’s ever accomplished is earning a scholarship to play college baseball…Has learned by playing baseball “not to let anyone tell you that you are not good enough”…Enjoys hiking, surfing, and snowboarding, and taking pictures when traveling…Says video editing is his biggest talent outside of baseball…Loves to go on adventures…Flew a simulated Air Force One at the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley (“that I trained for about a week to do”)…At the top of his bucket list: “Traveling the world”…Best advice ever received came from his dad: “Embarrass the parents and grandparents in the other stands”…Majoring in communications…Plans to pursue a career in baseball.
