ALISO VIEJO, Calif. - Chico State junior Claire Nordeen has been recognized as the FloCollege/CCAA Setter of the Week Tuesday after an outstanding performance that led the Wildcats to a pair of home victories. This recognition marks Nordeen's third career CCAA Setter of the Week award, having previously earned the honor twice during the 2025 season.
Nordeen recorded a total of 85 set assists on the week, as well as four kills, two service aces, 19 digs, and a block over the course of two matches. In the five-set win against Cal State Monterey Bay on Friday, she achieved a career-best 47 set assists, two kills, two service aces, and seven digs. In Saturday's 3-1 win against Menlo, she added 38 set assists, two kills, 12 digs, and a block to her weekly stats. Her leadership on the court was pivotal in both matches, allowing the Wildcats to sweep their non-conference week and improve their overall record to 4-5.
Hailing from Fallbrook, Nordeen has appeared in seven matches and played in 27 sets, averaging 8.15 assists per set to rank sixth-best in the CCAA. She's also accumulating 31 total kills, 80 total digs, and eight total blocks.
Looking ahead, Chico State will resume CCAA play with matches in the Bay Area. They are set to face Cal State East Bay on Friday and San Francisco State on Saturday, with both matches scheduled for 5 p.m. start times.
