Wildcats Continue Academic Success with Six CSC Academic All-District Honorees

CHICO, Calif. – Six Chico State student-athletes earned recognition on the 2025-26 CSC Academic All-District® Cross Country/Track & Field Team, honoring their achievements both in competition and in the classroom.

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined academic and athletic accomplishments. Academic All-District honorees are eligible for consideration for CSC Academic All-America® honors, with first-, second- and third-team selections to be announced in July.

Representing Chico State on this year's Academic All-District team are Annabelle Low, Megan Malloy, Charlie Ham, Talynn Schroeder, Tianna Thompson and Kaya Scuba.

Malloy was the lone Wildcat selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot after an outstanding year in both cross country and track & field.

The marketing major earned her first career All-America honor at the 2026 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, placing 11th in the 10,000 meters in Emporia, Kansas. During the cross country season, she earned All-CCAA and All-West Region honors before finishing 48th at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Wisconsin.

This marks Malloy's second consecutive CSC Academic All-District selection.

Low concluded her collegiate career as a key member of Chico State's multis squad. The communications sciences and disorders major earned her second CSC Academic All-District honor after placing sixth in the heptathlon at the CCAA Championships.

A transfer from Orange Coast College, Low set a personal best in the heptathlon at the Chico State Multi-Event Classic and finished the season ranked 26th in the West Region.

In her first season with the Wildcats, Ham emerged as one of the top pole vaulters in the region. The junior earned All-CCAA honors with a third-place finish at the conference championships and concluded the year ranked third in the West Region and 33rd nationally.

Schroeder made an immediate impact after transferring from San Francisco State. The biology major earned All-CCAA honors with a third-place finish in the heptathlon at the conference championships and posted the program's top multis performance of the season.

Thompson collected her first CSC Academic All-District honor following a successful senior campaign on the track and in the classroom. The communication design major finished the season ranked 30th in the West Region in the 100 meters and 39th in the 200 meters.

Scuba earned her first CSC Academic All-District selection while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA. The sophomore distance runner competed during both the cross country and track & field seasons and contributed to conference championship teams in each sport.

A strong finish to the season saw Scuba climb to 14th in the West Region in the 1,500 meters and 37th in the 800 meters following a personal-best performance at the APU Franson Last Chance Meet.
