TRACY, Calif. – Chico State softball wrapped up the 2026 NorCal Crossover with a rematch against Western Washington, falling 4-1 to the Vikings. The Wildcats finished the tournament with a 3-2 record, earning wins over three GNAC opponents and moving to 6-6 in non-conference play.
Brianna Swihart, Ali Lewis and Annika Isaacson each recorded multi-hit performances with two hits apiece, accounting for all six of Chico State's hits in the contest.
Western Washington struck first with a run in the opening inning, but the Wildcats responded in the second. Isaacson delivered her second double of the weekend, driving a ball into left-center to help even the score.
The Vikings regained control with three additional runs, and Chico State was unable to generate further offense, settling for a three-win weekend in Tracy.
The Wildcats will open CCAA play on the road in Seaside, facing CSU Monterey Bay at noon on March 6. Chico State then returns home for its first conference series March 13 against No. 2 Cal State San Marcos.
