CHICO, Calif. – The Chico State women's track & field team opened the season at the 42nd annual Chico State Multi-Event Classic, highlighted by standout performances from Talynn Schroeder and Annabelle Low.
Both seniors are looking to cap their careers with strong final seasons, and they showcased their offseason growth by recording personal bests in the heptathlon.
Schroeder compiled an overall personal-best score of 4,218 points over the weekend, improving on her previous mark set at the 2025 CCAA Championships. Impressively, the senior recorded new personal bests in four events: the javelin throw, long jump, shot put, and 100-meter hurdles.
Low, returning for her second season with the 'Cats, posted a personal-best 3,951 points to finish sixth overall in the competition. She recorded new personal bests in the high jump — where she took first place — and the long jump.
The rest of the Chico State women's track & field team will open its season at the Butte Invitational on Saturday at the John Cowan Sports Complex in Oroville.
