Historic Night for Aragon Ends with Overtime Buzzer-Beater as Wildcats Top Lumberjacks

Arcata, Calif. – Chico State battled back from an early deficit and delivered a dramatic overtime victory Thursday night, outlasting Cal Poly Humboldt 61–59 at Lumberjack Arena. The win featured both a milestone moment and a clutch finish by Meadow Aragon, who reached 1,000 career points nine minutes into the second quarter before sealing the game with a buzzer-beating layup in the extra period.

The Wildcats continue to add on to the history books following the win. The Wildcats (13-2, 9-0 CCAA) run their win streak to 12 straight games while adding on to the best start in conference play in program history. Additionally, 18th-year head coach Brian Fogel picked up his 286th win at the helm of Chico State to tie Fran Coslet for the most in the history of the program dating as far back as 1969.

Game Summary
– Humboldt jumped out early, holding Chico State to seven first-quarter points to take a 20–7 lead after one.
– The Wildcats flipped the momentum in the second quarter, limiting Humboldt to eight points and closing the gap to 28–25 at halftime.
– Chico State surged in the third, outscoring the Lumberjacks 21–14 to take a 46–42 lead into the fourth behind strong play from Parry and Aragon.
– Humboldt answered late in regulation to force overtime, with the teams tied 56–56 at the end of the fourth quarter.
– In overtime, Chico State sealed the win on a sideline play, as Meadow Aragon finished a layup off a pass from Kamil Reid at the buzzer to secure the 61–59 road victory

– Chico State's 12-game win streak is the longest since the 2005-06 NCAA West Regional championship team. That team, led by Lynne Roberts, ran the streak to 14 games before falling in the NCAA Elite Eight.
