Wildcats Fall to Falcons in Mid-Day Matchup

SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle Pacific opened their 2025 men's soccer season with a strong 3-1 home win over Chico State on Friday afternoon at Interbay Stadium. The Falcons improved to 1-1-0 on the season, while the Wildcats dropped to 0-1-1. Dan Peterson scored his second goal of the season for the Wildcats, converting from the penalty spot in the 76th minute. The Wildcats will be on the road next week, taking on a pair of opponents in the Pacific Northwest, starting with a matchup against Saint Martin's in Lacey on Thursday, September 11th.

  • Seattle Pacific took early control with a goal in the 12th minute, as Cristian Chel Lara finished a setup from Connor Tollan.

  • Connor Tollan then extended the Falcons' lead early in the second half, capitalizing on an assist from Brady Fendrich to make it 2-0.

  • Cristian Chel Lara struck again in the 73rd minute with an unassisted goal, completing a brace and pushing the lead to 3-0.

  • Chico State pulled one back three minutes later when Dane Peterson converted a penalty kick to make it 3-1, but the Wildcats couldn't close the gap further.

  • SPU's goalkeeper Brian Lanier recorded 6 saves to preserve the win.
