Saint Martin's opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Jonathan Wright converted a feed from Paul Lopez.

Chico State immediately responded less than a minute later, with Adrian Solis leveling the score at 1–1 off a pass from Darius Dukes.

The Wildcats grabbed the lead before halftime as Sam Addo scored in the 38th minute from a Matthew Rajecki assist.

Dane Peterson extended the lead in the 74th with a penalty kick, before Xavier Elder struck three minutes later to make it 4–1.
