BURNABY, B.C. – Chico State leaned on a first-half strike from Sam Addo to secure a 1–0 road win over Simon Fraser on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 at SFU Stadium at Terry Fox Field. With the result, the Wildcats improved to 2-1-1 overall (0-0-0 CCAA), while the Red Leafs fell to 0-2-2 (0-0-0 GNAC).

How it happened

Chico State broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when substitute Sam Addo found the net off a feed from defender Matthew Rajecki, marking Addo's second goal of the season.

The Wildcats' defense held firm the rest of the way as goalkeeper Weston Joyner posted his second shutout of the year. Simon Fraser applied late pressure with eight second-half shots, but Joyner stopped three attempts to preserve the clean sheet.
