CERES, Calif. - Opening the fall under the stars, the Wildcats participated in the Kim Duyst Twilight Invitational to kick off the 2025 cross-country season in the dark of night. The squad, absent of All-American's Iresh and Della Molina, put together an impressive third place finish to open the season ahead of D1 programs such as; UC Davis, California, Nevada, University of San Francisco, CSUN and Santa Clara.
Kira Forsberg, Paulina Martins and Isabel Rosales made their debuts for the squad collecting three of the seven scoring positions for the 'Cats, helping boost the team into a top-three finish. Sienna Bianchi, finishing first on the team, ran a personal best 21:28.8 in the season opener. Similarly, Megan Malloy clocked a personal best of over 40-seconds running a 21:29.7, and finishing in the top-fifteen of the late night race. Olivia Beschorner improved with a personal best and meet best, improving by over a minute and a half, finishing with a time of 21:41.4 and her best race finish. Jasmine Fletcher rounded out the top-seven runners with personal bests, claiming a seven second personal best.
The Wildcats will have a couple weeks before traveling to Monmouth, Oregon for the Mike Johnson Classic hosted by Western Oregon. It will be a great preview of the west regional course that will take place the Ash Creek Preserve in early November.
