Arcata, Calif. – The Chico State volleyball team shook off a slow start and stormed back with three straight set wins to defeat Dominican 3–1 (24–26, 25–17, 25–21, 25–16) Friday morning in the opening match of the Redwood Coast Classic, hosted by Cal Poly Humboldt.
The Wildcats improved to 2–2 on the season, while Dominican fell to 0–5.

Set 1: Dominican outlasted Chico in a long opener that featured 17 ties and 9 lead changes, taking it 26–24 after scoring the final two points.
Set 2: Camarillo's serving and Wahl's finishing sparked the Wildcats to a 25–17 response, with Chico hitting .108 while limiting the Penguins to just .059.
