ALISO VIEJO, Calif. – The CCAA proudly announced a record-setting 1,150 student-athletes across the conference made up the 2024-25 All-Academic team, with 72 coming from Chico State across 13 sports.
 
The 1,150 honorees shattered the previous record of 1,030 set a year ago. The CCAA began handing out All-Academic awards in 2005-06.
 
To be eligible for the CCAA's All-Academic team, the student-athlete must have earned a varsity letter for the academic year, a participant in one of the 13 CCAA-sponsored sports, which Chico State fields all, and notably must earn a grade-point average of 3.40 or better in a minimum of 24 semester units completed at the certifying institution. Graduate students are not eligible for the CCAA All-Academic award.
 
The CCAA and NCAA Division II support the educational mission of college athletics by fostering a balanced and inclusive approach in which student-athletes learn and develop through their desired academic pursuits, civic engagement with their communities, and athletics competition, creating a life in the balance.
 
The award is designed to demonstrate the academic achievements of each of the CCAA's 12 conference constituents. It illustrates just one of the many ways student-athletes in the conference take advantage of the unique opportunity Division II provides to compete in the classroom, on the field, in their career, for their causes, and on their terms.
