2026 Winter/Spring CCAA Academic Honor Roll

Another Great Turnout in the CCAA Winter/Spring Honor Roll

| By:

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — Chico State Athletics continued its tradition of academic excellence with 66 student-athletes named to the 2026 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll, the conference office announced.

The honor recognizes student-athletes who are of sophomore athletic standing or higher and have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or better while competing in a CCAA-sponsored winter or spring sport. A total of 620 student-athletes across the conference earned recognition, including 130 from winter sports and 491 from spring sports.

Chico State's 66 honorees ranked a very close third in the CCAA, highlighting the department's continued commitment to success in the classroom across all programs. Only Cal State East Bay (71) and Cal State San Marcos (67) had a slight lead over the 'Cats.

"Academic achievement is the foundation of our mission at Chico State Athletics, and this recognition reflects the commitment our student-athletes make every day in teh classroom," Executive Director of Athletics Eric Coleman said. "Competing at a high level while maintaining this standard of academic excellence is no small feat, and we're incredibly proud of the dedication they've shown throughout the year."

The Wildcats were represented across all eight winter and spring sports—men's and women's basketball are the lone winter sports while the spring consists of men's and women's golf, men's and women's track & field, baseball and softball—demonstrating broad-based academic achievement throughout the department.

Men's and women's track & field once again played a significant role in Chico State's total, combining for 27 honorees, while baseball added 13 selections and softball contributed 12. Women's basketball, men's basketball and women's golf were also well represented, and men's golf added to the Wildcats' spring total.

Several Wildcats earned repeat recognition on the CCAA Academic Honor Roll, underscoring a sustained commitment to academic excellence throughout their collegiate careers.

Chico State's honorees represented a wide range of academic disciplines, including business administration, kinesiology, criminal justice, exercise physiology, nursing, construction management, communication sciences and disorders, and environmental science—illustrating the diverse academic pursuits of Wildcat student-athletes.

The CCAA Winter Academic Honor Roll includes student-athletes from men's and women's basketball, while the Spring Academic Honor Roll includes student-athletes from men's and women's golf, men's and women's track & field, baseball and softball.
