Chico State Grit Shows on Day Two of CCAA Play

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Chico State showed signs of momentum on Tuesday at the 2025 CCAA Women's Golf Championships, shaving four strokes off their opening round to post a 336 in Round 2 at Sandpiper Golf Club. The Wildcats now sit in sixth place with a two-round total of 676.

Leading the charge was Trinity Hernandez, who carded a 7-over-par 79—a five-stroke improvement from Monday. Hernandez opened with a birdie on the par-3 10th and added 10 pars to pace the Wildcats.

Brooke Pelletier followed with an 84, highlighted by a stretch of five straight pars on the front nine and a birdie on the par-3 18th. Her two-day total sits at 169 (+25).

Makenzi Laporte recorded an 86 on Tuesday, bringing her to 171 (+27) overall. She made par on nine holes and birdied the par-4 12th.

Ariana Blagrove added a 90 to the team score, carding five straight pars from holes 2–6 and finishing strong with a birdie on 18. Hollyn Drennen, despite a challenging front nine, bounced back with five pars on the back for a second-round 87.

The Wildcats will look to continue building momentum as they head into the final round on Wednesday. Drennen will start the day with a 7:30 a.m. tee time.
