CHICO, Calif. – The Chico State women's track and field team took home the title at their home meet, with a flurry of incredible results from the Wildcats across every event.
Kicking off the annual meet, Sage Coyle took the top spot in the hammer throw on Friday with a hurl of 48.10m, with teammate Angelina Escobar right behind her in second with a mark of 47.30m.
Escobar followed up her hammer finish with a second place finish in the shot put on Saturday, tossing for a 11.33m personal best.
Josie Peterson defended her title in the javelin with a mark of 41.83m, with teammate Andrea Villalta taking third place with a throw of 35.71m.
In Madi Monroe's third meet with the Wildcats, she clocked a 12.32 in the 100m event to come away with the top spot and a personal best. Breah Bell was behind her in third place with a time of 12.60, just two seconds shy of a personal best.
Natalie Muse earned two new personal bests with a strong day at the Wildcat Invite, finishing second in the 200m with a PR of 25.91 and the win in the 100m hurdles with a new fastest 14.97.
In the 400m event, Danielle Bacon stole the top spot with a finishing time of 58.35, teammate Kaitlyn Gonzales crossing the line just behind her fellow senior with a time of 1:00.43.
Sydney Garcia recorded a new personal best in the 800m while finishing second in the event, crossing the line at 2:17.83. Sienna Bianchi was right on her heels in third with a time of 2:17.84.
The Wildcats dominated the 1500m event; Iresh Molina, Della Molina and Bianchi all taking the top three spots in the event. Iresh pulled ahead for the top spot in a tight finish at 4:41.31 with Bianchi pushing her through the final stretch and finishing with a time of 4:41.32.
The Molina sisters took a staggered 1-2 finish in the 5000m race, with Iresh taking the win with a time of 17:18.19. Della was not far behind crossing the line at 17:28.76.
Mia Beltran narrowly missed a personal best in the 400m hurdles but still pulled off an incredible race taking second in her third collegiate meet, finishing with a time of 1:07.56.
The Chico State 4x100m relay team of Tianna Thompson, Madi Monroe, Kaitlyn Gonzales and Breah Bell were the first relay team to cross the finish line after a great time of 48.60. Monroe, Gonzales, and Thompson alongside Danielle Bacon were the winners by nine seconds in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:00.95.
Freshman Allie Goetz claimed her second win of her career with an impressive 1.63m bar clearance. Kendra Pearson finished second in the event after clearing 1.53m.
Miranda Seitz found a new personal best in the pole vault with an impressive 3.36m mark and finishing in third at the Wildcat Invite.
Annie Belter finished third in the long jump for the 'Cats, with a leap of 4.92m.
