Chico State's Isaiah Kerr caught the eyes of the College Sports Communicators (CSC) in his ability to start and play a majority of a men's basketball game and maintain excellent academic standing, and for that the association selected him as a member of the Academic All-District team.
The CSC Academic All-District and All-America programs recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sport and in academics. Notable requirements to be on both academic teams must be at least a sophomore, maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) and have played 90 percent of the institution's games.
In addition to being named Academic All-District, Kerr was selected as a finalist for CSC Academic All-American and will go on the national ballot to be voted on either first-, second- or third-team. It will be announced April 17.
A junior academically, Kerr is in his second year at Chico State after a brief stop at the University of Montana as a freshman.
Kerr started all 29 games he played in the 2024-25 season, averaging 32.9 minutes for second most on the team. He was voted first-team All-CCAA after finishing 12
th in the conference in scoring, fifth in assist/turnover margin and seventh in assists.
Chico State, under first-year head coach Cevin Meador, finished the 2024-25 season 24-7 overall and 19-3 in the CCAA, good enough for a second-place finish in the conference standings. The Wildcats reached the CCAA Tournament and qualified for NCAA West Regionals for the third time in four years.
