SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - After splitting the opening series against the No.20 Gators, Chico State softball battled on Saturday to grab the series split with an impressive closing performance.
The Wildcats move to 18-13 with the road series split, still making incredible progress in their 2025 CCAA campaign.
Game 1 | Chico 5, SFS 9
In a challenging conference game on March 22, 2025, the Chico State Wildcats faced a tough defeat, losing 9-5 to the San Francisco State Gators in San Francisco. Despite a promising start and advantageous weather conditions of 59 degrees and overcast skies, the Wildcats could not maintain their early lead throughout the innings.
The Wildcats opened the game impressively, scoring three runs in the first inning, highlighted by significant hits from Curry and De Los Rios, alongside a pivotal RBI sacrifice fly by Levy. Players like Gustin and Swihart, who each contributed multiple runs, demonstrated the team's strong offensive capabilities.
