TURLOCK, Calif. - The Chico State Wildcats, showcasing a brilliant display of skill and teamwork, secured a 2-0 win over the Academy of Art Urban Knights in a keenly contested softball game at Pedretti #5, Turlock, Calif.

The Wildcats, led by stellar performances from Dahlila Hall and Italia Abrenica who scored the runs, managed to outplay the Urban Knights in what turned into a tactical showdown. Kennedy Gustin added to the excitement with a critical RBI and a stolen base, contributing significantly to the Wildcats' victory. A standout in the Wildcats' lineup was Bella Tavares, who pitched an immaculate game with 7.0 innings of no-hit ball, delivering 4 strikeouts while issuing just 2 walks.

Gracie Dunning and Kennedy Gustin extended their hitting streaks to seven straight games with a pair of hits each against the Urban Knights.

Marissa Anderson recorded a notable hit that squeaked up the middle of the Urban Knight's defense, assisted by a fielding error that allowed Italia Abrenica to double the Wildcats lead. 

The game took place under 50-degree weather conditions, with Tavares delivering a performance to remember, ensuring Chico State maintained their unbeaten streak with a record of 7-0 for the season. 

The Wildcats look ahead to their next challenge against Vanguard University on February 15, 2025, at Warrior Field, hoping to extend their winning stretch. The first pitch will be thrown at 10:30 a.m. as the Wildcats look to continue their impressive start to the 2025 campaign.
