CHICO, Calif. – Chico State earned its fifth straight win and fifth shutout in seven matches, blanking Cal State Monterey Bay 2–0 on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at University Soccer Stadium. With the victory, the Wildcats improved to 9-5-2 overall (7-2-0 CCAA), while the Otters dropped to 5-8-3 (3-5-1 CCAA). With the win at home over the Otters, the Chico State women's soccer squad clinched a 2025 CCAA Tournament berth for the first time since 2023. With two games remaining in the season, the seeding has yet to be determined, as the 'Cats boast an opportunity to finish in the top two, earning a bye to the semifinals, or hosting a first-round match up.

How it happened
After a scoreless opening 35 minutes, Hannah Pieri put the Wildcats ahead in the 38th minute, finishing a cross from Alexia Chavez for her second goal of the season. Pieri has now scored two goals in consecutive matches, both tallied as the first goals of each match.
Jiana Martin added insurance in the 78th minute, converting a loose ball outside the box and finding the right side of the goal for her second goal of the season.
Kennedy Briseno stopped both shots she faced to record her fifth shutout of the year, while Otters goalkeepers Willow Baltazar and Olivia Wynn combined for five saves in the loss.
