Haynes Scores Early but 'Cats Settle for Draw

CHICO, Calif. – Visiting Cal State San Bernardino scored late to earn a 1–1 draw against Chico State on Friday night, Oct. 17, 2025, at University Soccer Stadium. The Wildcats move to 3-4-4 overall (1-1-3 CCAA), while the Coyotes stand at 6-2-4 (1-1-2 CCAA).

How it happened

After a back-and-forth opening half, Carter Haynes put Chico State ahead just before the break, finishing a setup from Dominick Rollins Trovato in the 45th minute.

The Wildcats appeared poised for victory, but Anthony Morales equalized for the Coyotes in the 87th minute.

Goalkeeper Weston Joyner made two saves for Chico, while CSUSB's Donovan Palomares stopped three shots to preserve the draw.
